Listing details for 214 8th Ave SE, Hickory, NC 28602 : Built in 1900 and ready to be restored to its original state. The home needs updating but there are hidden treasures that will entice you to want to take on this project to make your own or as a rental investment. There is an original vertical split front door, hardwood floors that are hiding under the carpeted areas, & very spacious rooms with ceiling heights of over 9' in the living room, front room and bedrooms. There is an attic but is not accessible from the inside the home. This home is being sold "As Is" and from the Estate, heirs did not live in the home. The Catawba Cty Assessment report states that this home used oil for fuel. There appears to be an oil tank that is buried on the right side of the home & sellers have no knowledge about when it was last filled. For this reason, the home is listed as unheated square footage.
